RESTORED №001 · A three-day sleep retreat in the redwoods · November 20 to 22, 2026

Leave with your own sleep protocol, and a circle that keeps you to it.

Three weeks of your own sleep data, read with sleep faculty over a weekend in the redwoods, then a small group that checks in every week.

Two minutes. Nothing to pay today.
Hosted by Martin Kawalski, MD, PhD

Is this for you?

This is for you if

  • You track your sleep every night and the numbers have not moved.
  • You wake in the small hours and your mind starts working.
  • You have tried the supplements, the blackout blinds and the magnesium.
  • You will give the plan ten minutes a morning for eight weeks after the weekend.

It is not for you if

  • You want a diagnosis or a prescription. We will tell you when to see your own doctor.
  • You want treatment for a diagnosed sleep disorder. That belongs with your own doctor.
  • You want a spa weekend with no homework.

Three weeks before, three days together, eight weeks after

21nights before you arrive

A sleep-tracking ring, short questionnaires and a bedroom checklist build your baseline, so you arrive knowing the pattern behind your bad nights.

3days in the redwoods, November 20 to 22

Your nights are read with the faculty in small-group chart reviews. On Sunday you write your protocol and check it with them.

8weeks with your circle

Your circle checks in every week in FirstLight, with a weekly guided call, and you re-test at day 30 and day 90 to see what changed.

RESTORED is education and coaching. It does not diagnose or treat, and it does not replace your own doctor.

Morning sunlight breaking through the redwood canopy

Light at the right time sets your clock.

Morning light is the strongest signal your body clock receives, so every day starts outside in the first hour of daylight.

Mornings for your data, afternoons for rest

Friday

Arrive and settle in, a workshop on attention and the wind-down, then dinner and the Sleep and Aging talk.

Saturday

A dawn walk, what wearables measure and miss, snoring and breathing, then small-group chart reviews, with time for your own questions.

Sunday

Dawn walk and breathwork, CBT-I and the 3am mind, then you write your protocol and check it with the faculty before the closing circle.

Golden hour over the forested ridges of the Santa Cruz Mountains

As the light goes down, so does the day.

Evenings are dim, quiet and early, the way your body clock expects them to be.

The afternoons and evenings are for winding down

Your own protocol, and a circle that keeps you accountable

  • Your own protocol on your phone. Your wake time, your light schedule, your caffeine and alcohol cut-offs, your plan for 3am, and one experiment to run for the next 30 days.
  • Your 21-night baseline, read with the faculty, so you know what your nights actually look like.
  • Your circle, with weekly check-ins for eight weeks, and re-tests at day 30 and day 90.
  • Six months of FirstLight, free. Martin's sleep and performance app, where your protocol, your nights and your circle live once you are home.
